Dear Lovely Lurkers,

I know that all blogs have lurkers
but it didn't occur to me that I might have some.
Doh! I can be a bit dim like that.
When I decided to stop writing The Magpie Files
It is only a break - I think...
I suddenly had some wonderful and unexpected
comments and emails from my Lovely Lurkers.
Panyan, Viv and Laura
and Anonymouse (as MrM insists on calling you)

Thank you so much for delurking.
Your kind messages meant a great deal to me.

So just for you and the rest of the Lovely Lurking Posse
I offer you this picture:

I don't know anything about the person
who planted this bike basket
but it doesn't matter - it still made me smile.

I think I have lurkers too! I know of several that read my blog everyday and never leave a comment.
I have always wanted to do a post about them but never could figure out how to do it without making them mad. :)

I love semi-lurking here, it is a good place to lurk I guess.

Isn't it funny about Lurking and then de-Lurking yourself?
This week I de-lurked myself on a blog I have been following for a whole year, and I had an immediate and delightful email from the bLogger thanking me hugely for de-lurking, which made me feel guilty that I had not done it sooner. There was absolutely no known reason as to why I lurked so long on this particular blog, I just never got round to commenting with my fingers, only used to do it in my head. I am odd like that.

btw, that bicycle has so made me smile too, I saw a similar one this summer outside a cafe and my heart skipped a beat.
xx

I remember being quite shocked when I realised I had lurkers. I naively thought it was only the people who left comments! But it is quite nice. Love the bike basket.

I wish I was on that bike riding to some swanky little wine bar, but, instead, it is Thursday morning and I'm heading to work. Boo.

I used to be one of your lovely lurkers, and then one day, I dared to speak. And you sent me a lovely email, which led to more emails, which led to my daring to start a blog, which led to my having commenters and lurkers of my own! Funny how things work...

I feel so much better for having delurked myself! I'm off to celebrate with a G & T in exactly 18 minutes time - can't drink before 6 pm you know or you could be thought of as a lush.

We don't get bikes like that around here. Ours are owned by fisherman with baskets of fish heads going home for the cat...not flowers! The aroma as you can imagine is not the same either!

I actually love lurkers, but I like to call them readers. I think they are readers who are not in the mood for writing.
